Do I need to notify the bank if my name or marital status changes?
Yes. Please notify the Bank of a name change by submitting a signed letter with supporting documentation (marriage certificate or legal divorce decree) to H&R Block Bank, P.O. Box 10364, Kansas City, MO 64171-0364 or FAX the form to 816-854-8050. If you would also like to modify your IRA beneficiaries as a result of this change, please use the following form to document the change and submit the form to the same mailing address or FAX number listed previously.

How do I add someone as power of attorney on my account?
An individual granted power of attorney to an account has your authorization to modify the account and deposit or withdraw funds. As such, we require a signed authorization form to be submitted by you. Please use the following form to document the change.

How can a lender or landlord verify my deposits with the H&R Block Bank?
We need your authorization to release this type of information on your account. Please send a signed, written request or the form provided by your lender or landlord to H&R Block Bank, P.O. Box 10364, Kansas City, MO 64171-0364 or FAX it to us at 816-854-8050.

What if the date of birth showing on my account is incorrect?
Please send a letter stating such with a copy of your birth certificate or driver's license to H&R Block Bank, P.O. Box 10364, Kansas City, MO 64171-0364 or FAX the documents to 816-854-8050.

When are statements sent out?
Statement cycles vary by type of account:
  • Block Checking and Money Market account statements are mailed monthly.
  • Block Savings account statements are mailed quarterly and Block IRA account statements are mailed annually, unless an electronic transaction, such as an ACH deposit has occurred, in which a statement will be mailed that month.

Statements are generated and mailed at the beginning of each month and represent activity for the prior month or quarter, depending upon the type of account.

Can I sign up to receive my statements via e-mail?
Yes. E-statements are available for those customers who wish to receive their statements electronically. You may opt-in for e-statements from the online banking center. When your e-statement is ready, you will be notified via email of the secure URL from which to retrieve your e-statement. If you wish at any time to discontinue e-statements and want to resume receiving your statements in hard-copy format, you may simply notify us of this change at 1-888-OUR-HRBB. There is no charge for periodic electronic or hard-copy statements.

When will I receive my annual tax statements associated with my H&R Block Bank account or mortgage loan?
The schedule for different tax forms varies as follows:
  • 1098 forms are mailed no later than Jan. 31 each year.
  • 1099 forms are mailed no later than Jan. 31 each year.
  • 5498 forms are mailed no later than May 31 each year.

How do I know which number on my check is my account number?
Across the bottom of your check is a series of machine readable numbers.
  • The first set of numbers is H&R Block Bank's routing number (101089700).
  • The second set of numbers is your account number.
  • The third set of numbers is your check number and should match the number in the upper corner of the check.
