What information do I need to open a new personal account?
You will need the following information for yourself and the joint account owner (if applicable) in order to apply:
- Social Security Number
- Driver's license or other ID such as passport or state ID
- Employer information
- Address
- Date of Birth
Can I open an account online?
You may apply for a CD account or an H&R Block Easy IRA online. To open any other account, please visit our branch location at:

How do I make my opening deposit?
You can make your deposit when you open your account using any one of the following methods:
- Check drawn on an existing account.
- Money order or cashier's check.
- ACH transfer from an existing account at another bank (you must note the bank routing number and your account number, as well as authorize us to withdraw these funds on the new account application form).
- Transfer from one of your existing H&R Block Bank accounts.
Are alternate forms of ID accepted when opening a bank account?
Yes. We accept your state issued driver's license or other identification, such as a passport or other state
issued identification.
