The H&R Block Emerald Savings account is an interest-bearing savings account offered by H&R Block Bank through H&R Block tax offices.

The Emerald Savings® account offers competitive interest rates, and your money is insured by the FDIC for up to $250,000. You can open the account with as little as a $25 initial deposit or by using a portion of your tax refund. Additional deposits can be individual deposits or automatic monthly deposits from your bank account.

The H&R Block Emerald Prepaid MasterCard® makes deposits and withdrawals from your Emerald Savings account easy. You can transfer funds between your H&R Block Emerald Card and your H&R Block Emerald Savings account at ATMs worldwide*. It also provides you with a safe and convenient way to save money towards your financial goals.

Transfer funds from your H&R Block Emerald Prepaid MasterCard® to your H&R Block Emerald Savings account. At ATMs worldwide, select "transfer" and transfer funds from your H&R Block Emerald Card. Fees may apply.

You can set up automatic deposits into your H&R Block Emerald Savings account. A specific amount is withdrawn from your bank account on a monthly basis and deposited into your Emerald Savings account. Complete a Direct Deposit Form and mail with a voided check to:

To access account balance information on your H&R Block Emerald Savings account call 1-866-353-1266 and follow the prompts.

For account questions, please call 1-800-HRBLOCK and select the "H&R Block Savings Products" option.

Address Change

If you need to have the address on your H&R Block Emerald Savings account changed or updated, complete and submit a Change of Address Form. The following fields must be completed: account number, entire address printed clearly, signature and date. Once complete either fax to 1-866-812-3144 or mail to:

The H&R Block Emerald Savings Account is accessed by the H&R Block Emerald Prepaid MasterCard® debit card. At such time as the balance of the H&R Block Emerald Savings account becomes less than $25 and no activity occurs on the account for 90 consecutive days, the balance of the savings account will be loaded to the H&R Block Emerald Prepaid MasterCard®.

Product Description Interest Rate APY
Interest accrues daily and is credited quarterly. Minimum opening deposit is $25. No minimum balance is required to obtain the stated APY. If you close your account before interest is credited, you will not receive the accrued interest. All fees and rates are subject to change after account opening.

Annual Percentage Yield (APY) effective as of at 20:13 PM CST and is subject to change without prior notice. Fees may reduce earnings on the account. See fee disclosure and account agreement for details.

Your account statements will be mailed to you by the H&R Block Bank on a quarterly basis, or in each month that you have activity on your account.
