Finance
Our accounting department is comprised of accounting, corporate tax, finance, internal audit, business planning and analysis, treasury, and insurance groups. Teams in this area handle important fiscal responsibilities for the corporate division. Positions include Corporate Tax Analyst, Director of Finance, Manager of Financial Planning and Corporate Controller.
Administrative Support Services
These positions generally provide administrative support to senior executives and their teams and handle a variety of responsibilities. Within the administrative unit, there is a career path to move into more complex administrative roles within the organization. Positions include Administrative Assistant and Executive Assistant.
Banking
H&R Block Bank provides a full suite of banking products to our customers and associates, including checking, savings, deposits, CDs and loans. This subsidiary of our organization is comprised of banking, lending, compliance, credit and assets groups. Positions include Risk Manager, Consumer Loan Officer, Chief Lending Officer and Manager of Financial Reporting.
Communication
Corporate Communications is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all areas of communication for the organization, including public and media relations, and communication with our associates. Human Resources
Our Human Resources team is diverse, energetic and passionate about providing its services. It is responsible for deploying talent acquisition, talent development, associate experience and recognition and rewards programs as part of its "People" strategy. Positions include HR generalists, and those with expertise in compensation, recruiting, HRIS, organizational effectiveness, benefits and payroll.
Information Technology
At H&R Block, having a state-of-the-art technology department is critical to our customers. Within the organization, you will find information technology opportunities in the areas of shared services, IT risk management, architecture, corporate systems and digital. We also have opportunities within our retail tax organization and H&R Block Financial Advisors. Positions include infrastructure and software engineers, project managers, business analysts, technical writers and developers.
Legal
H&R Block office of general counsel handles an array of securities and corporate matters for the company. Attorneys, assisted by paralegals and support personnel, provide counseling and legal services to the company. It covers a broad spectrum of issues including corporate, regulatory litigation and arbitration, and employment matters. Positions include Sr. Paralegal, Associate General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel.
Marketing
Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans, programs and materials designed to enhance our brand position and differentiate H&R Block in the marketplace. Marketing professionals work with external vendors and product partners to leverage resources and ideas, and provide product and advisor marketing support. Positions include Marketing Managers, Program Managers and Directors of Marketing.
Tax Operations/Field Management
Tax Operations is the engine that runs the largest and most successful tax company in the nation. This organization oversees more than 12,000 company and franchise tax offices and more than 120,000 full-time and seasonal associates. Positions include district, regional and divisional leadership roles.
Client Service Operations

Our Client Service Operations (CSO) center, located in Kansas City, Mo., supports all products and services for the organization and provides customer service and support to both internal and external clients.
The primary responsibility of the CSO is to address customer needs and issues via phone or e-mail. To help our associates answer clients' questions efficiently and effectively, they receive extensive training and a variety of tools. Overall, we strive to have "first call resolution" for our customers, meaning we answer their questions/concerns the first time they call.
The CSO is an excellent introduction to H&R Block because it supports all H&R Block Branded businesses. Our positions can also provide a variety of growth opportunities for associates who excel in their jobs.
