At H&R Block, our benefit program is designed to help both the associate and H&R Block manage health and healthcare costs. Choosing and using benefits wisely is a shared responsibility. By providing ongoing education and communication, we are building healthcare consumers, who are able to understand how the benefits work and take an active role in using benefits wisely.

This program encompasses all aspects of life — physical, financial, career, team and community. When we have all of these components balanced, we are BlockStrong — achieving personal strength, team strength and organizational strength.

Medical — H&R Block offers the Consumer Choice Plan and Max Consumer Choice Plan. Both plans qualify as a high deductible health plan, meaning you are eligible to open a Health Savings Account, to which both you and H&R Block contribute. These plans do not have any copayments and all preventive care is covered at 100%, even before the deductible is met.

Physical Well-being — Throughout the year, we focus on physical well-being and our commitment to helping you live a healthier lifestyle. Our goals each year remain the same: healthy associates and lower costs for both you and the Company. That's the foundation of our consumerism and shared responsibility strategy. The programs and resources we have in place, including a health assessment and biometric screenings, help us achieve these goals, and reward you for your efforts with incentives and rewards!

Dental — The H&R Block dental plan provides preventive and diagnostic services as well as restorative and orthodontia coverage.

Vision — The H&R Block vision plan provides coverage for the annual eye exam, lenses and frames.

Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Short-term and Long-term Disability — H&R Block provides a variety of options to help you take care of yourself and your family in the event of injury, illness or accident.

Flexible Spending Accounts — In addition to the Health Savings Account, associates may also elect to defer money into either the Medical or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account.

Retirement Savings Plan — The H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan, a 401(k) plan, provides the opportunity to save on a tax-deferred basis. H&R Block matches up to 4% of your contribution, and, you are always 100% vested in both your and the Company matching contributions.

Employee Stock Purchase Plan — This plan provides associates the opportunity to purchase H&R Block common stock at a 15% discount.

Vacation, Sick and Holiday — Associates are encouraged to spend time away from the office for rest, relaxation and re-energizing.

Legal Services — A prepaid legal plan gives you and your family convenient access to professional legal representation.

Discount Platform — Associates have access to an online discount program that offers meaningful discounts on many products and services.

Employee Assistance Program — H&R Block provides associates with the opportunity to seek counseling services, up to 5 visits, free of charge to help with personal, professional or financial concerns. In addition, there are a variety of resources available in print and online.

Tuition Assistance Plan — We encourage you to make life-long learning a priority. For our full-time associates, we'll reimburse up to $5250 per calendar year for qualified tuition, books and enrollment fees after 1 year of employment.

Tax Preparation Services — Associates may choose between having their taxes prepared by one of our tax professionals, or, by using our online or software services.
