What is the fee to have a certificate issued for a stock, and how do I request one?
The certificate fee is $80.00 per company. To request that a certificate be issued, please contact your Financial Advisor or call the Investor Center at 1-866-295-7912, and select option Financial Services. After your request has been submitted, it will take approximately four to six weeks for you to receive your certificate(s).

How do I change the address (or phone) on my account?
Send or fax a letter (signed by all account owners) including the following information:
   
  Account number or social security #
  Old address
  New address
  New phone (if it is changing)

How do I contribute additional funds to my account?

How do I stop my monthly automated investing?
If your assets are being using to purchase mutual funds
, you will need to complete the Automatic Mutual Fund Investing Form indicating that you would like to cancel your participation in the program. This will also cancel the direct deposit from your financial institution.
If your assets are directly deposited for future investing, you will need to complete the Direct Deposit Form indicating that you would like to cancel direct deposit.

I sent you a check; why can't I place a trade?
HRBFA requires that all checks "age" prior to becoming available cash. This means that a check will have to age for 7-10 business days to ensure the funds are good. Once the check has aged, the funds will appear as "good funds" in your account. While the check is aging, no trades can be placed using those funds.

I'm trying to get a quote on a preferred stock, but it keeps telling me invalid symbol?
When entering a quote for a preferred stock, please use the example below:
When entering a request for the Sempra Energy Capital Trust I 8.90% cum QUIPS, one would get the quote by using the symbol "SRE-PRA".

However, when placing an order to buy 100 shares, the order would be entered using the symbol "SRE PRA".

I have an account with a different company; how do I transfer it to H&R Block Financial Advisors?
To transfer any assets that you have at another brokerage firm to your account with H&R Block Financial Advisors, all you have to do is print out, complete, sign and send us an Account Transfer Form, along with a copy of your most recent statement (from the account you would like to transfer). We'll take care of the rest. Transferring an account generally takes from three to six weeks, depending on how quickly your assets are released by your present firm. Note: Not all securities may be transferable.

What is the minimum I can open an account with?
The minimum deposit for opening a cash or margin account is $2,000. For an IRA, the minimum deposit is $1,000. To open an account you must complete an application.

How do I open an account?
To open an account with H&R Block Financial Advisors you have several options:
a. You can print out an application Individual or Joint Account or IRA Account application, complete it and mail it to:

b. You can meet with one of our Financial Advisors.
c. You can call the Investor Center at 1-866-295-7912 and speak with a Relationship Manager who will assist you in opening an account.


What do I do if I have forgotten my password or need to have one issued?
You may contact the Investor Center at 1-866-295-7912, select option Financial Services and request that your password be reset or a password be issue to you. You may also submit a request using our Submit a Question form.

How do I change my password?
Click "Access your Account" under "Quick Login" in the right hand pod, and then log in to your account. Click on "My Account" in the top navigation. Select "Change Password" and follow the instructions.

How do I withdraw funds from my account?
To withdraw funds from your account you may contact the Investor Center at 1-866-295-7912, select option Financial Services and request that a check be issued to you. If you are requesting a withdraw from an IRA account, you will need to complete an IRA Withdraw Form and mail or fax it to:

How soon can I expect a response if I e-mail you?
You will receive a response to your e-mail within 48 business hours. If you submit your question Friday night through Sunday, you will receive a response at the latest by Tuesday (if there are no holidays within this timeframe).
