Tango FAQs
&
  • Why can't I log in to my Tango account?
  • Why won't Tango be released this year?
  • Tango was great; now that it isn't available, is there a comparable program available that I can use?
  • How can I compare what I entered through Tango last year?
  • Can I import my Tango data into TaxCut, an H&R Block Office, or other H&R Block product?
  • Is there an online program available that will allow my information to be stored locally rather than at H&R Block?
  • Is there something wrong with Tango? Do I need to amend my return?
  • How can I access my prior year(s) Tango return?
  • Will I be able to print my prior year(s) Tango return that I saved locally?
  • I received a letter from the IRS or state taxing authority. What should I do? I can't get in to Tango to get to my information.

Why can't I log in to my Tango account?
H&R Block has decided to suspend the Tango product for the 2008 tax season. We encourage customers interested in preparing their taxes online to try our sister program TaxCut. TaxCut allows users to prepare their own taxes, while also accessing the tax expertise of our tax professionals across the country.

Why won't Tango be released this year?
H&R Block has decided to focus on improving the TaxCut product line for this year. We continue to evaluate the innovative approach of Tango in a Research & Development capacity. Tango's unique approach to tax preparation and support will be integrated into other product offerings in the future.

Tango was great, now that it isn't available, is there a comparable program available that I can use?
We encourage you to check out our sister program TaxCut. TaxCut offers a variety of products depending on your tax needs. It allows you to prepare your own taxes and access to the tax expertise of our tax professionals all throughout the country.

How can I compare what I entered through Tango last year?
At the end of each tax season we remove the prior year interview from the Web site so that we can load the updated current year interview. Even if Tango had been released for the 2008 tax season, you would not have been able to compare line by line what had been entered in the prior year.

Can I import my Tango data into TaxCut, an H&R Block Office, or other H&R Block product?
No, unfortunately Tango data cannot be imported into other H&R Block products.

Is there an online program available that will allow my information to be stored locally rather than at H&R Block?
Unfortunately, no there is not. We recommend that customers who are interested in saving their data locally use TaxCut software. TaxCut software allows you to save all of your data locally.

Is there something wrong with Tango? Do I need to amend my return?
There is nothing wrong with Tango, and there is no reason to amend your return.
H&R Block has decided to suspend the Tango product for the 2008 tax season. We encourage customers interested in preparing their taxes online to try our sister program TaxCut. TaxCut allows users to prepare their own taxes, while also accessing the tax expertise of our tax professionals across the country. (additional fees may apply for live tax advice depending on the product you select)

How can I access my prior year(s) Tango return?
Unfortunately since Tango will not be released for tax year 2008 this will no longer be option. To obtain a copy of your prior year(s) return you will need to contact the IRS.

Instructions for contacting the IRS:
  • To request a copy of the Tax Transcript by phone call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040.
  • To request a copy of the Tax Transcript by mail from the IRS, Form 4506-T must be completed. Clients can download this form from the IRS Web site: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf.

  • Note : The IRS transcript is free and takes approximately 10 to 14 days to process.
Form 4506 can be used to request a full copy of a return; however, there is a fee associated with this service.

Will I be able to print my prior year(s) Tango return that I saved locally?
Unfortunately, if you did not save a copy of your return in PDF format and you chose to save your data locally to your hard drive (versus our servers) we will not have a copy of your return. You can still obtain a copy by contacting the IRS.

Instructions for contacting the IRS:
  • To request a copy of the Tax Transcript by phone call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040.
  • To request a copy of the Tax Transcript by mail from the IRS, the Form 4506-T must be completed. Clients can download this form from the IRS Web site: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf.

  • Note : The IRS transcript is free and takes approximately 10 to 14 days to process.

  • NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE
    COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, and money-market deposit accounts.

For more information about temporary FDIC insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.fdic.gov.
