What's the average amount of time to receive a refund?
If you mail your return, your refund will usually arrive in 6-8 weeks. If you e-file with direct deposit, you'll usually receive your refund in 10-21 days. However, the IRS plans to scrutinize more returns this year. So, there might be a delay in the processing of returns. While it's possible you might get your refund sooner, there's no guarantee you will.
