Check Your Refund Status
After filing taxes, find out when you can expect your refund with Where's My Refund?, a tool from the IRS. You'll go to www.irs.gov and need this information:
- Social Security number
- Filing status
- Exact refund amount shown on your return
It might take up to 24 hours for the IRS to update its site. If your refund status isn't showing, check back later.
Depending on how you chose to receive your tax refund, it might take longer for the funds to become available. It might take an additional 2 to 5 days from the date indicated by the IRS for your bank to process your refund.
