Why you received IRS Notice CP19

  1. You filed an original tax return.
  2. When processing the return, the IRS determined that a credit or deduction on the return would not be allowed.
  3. You received a CP18 notifying you that part of the expected refund was being withheld, pending further review.
  4. The IRS sent CP19 to explain which item was not allowed. The notice also informs you that because of the changes made to the return, a balance is now due.

Notice deadline: 30 days

If you miss this deadline: Additional penalties and interest will accrue.
