Teresa L. Clark came to H&R Block in January 2010 after working as a civil servant for more than 13 years. Since that first tax season she has written blog posts and talking points, edited content of all shapes and sizes, facilitated media interviews for the experts in The Tax Institute at H&R Block and supported the DIY team. Clark has a master's degree in integrated marketing communications from the University of Kansas and is a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Monica Glukstad contributes local client, product and associate stories to the H&R Block newsroom. She has more than 15 years of extensive agency and corporate experience in the public relations and communications field. She’s also a proud graduate of the University of Miami and holds a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications from Barry University. In addition to her work as a newsroom contributor, she also holds the role of Latino newsroom anchor.
Matthew Hensley studied at the University of Southern California's prestigious school of Cinema-Television and worked in the television industry for 15 years before joining H&R Block. His television background includes journalism and documentaries. He is a life-long film buff and Kansas City Royals fan. Matthew has been nominated for multiple Emmy awards and brings cinematic and documentary film storytelling to the H&R Block Newsroom.
Sharita Hutton started at H&R Block for tax season 2013 and serves as lead anchor for the H&R Block newsroom. Before joining H&R Block, Hutton was a local broadcast reporter and anchor for several of Kansas City’s news channels. A former college basketball player, Hutton loves spending time coaching her two children in all of their athletic endeavors.
How taxes affect everyday life is one of Mary Ann Luther’s favorite subjects. But medicine, insurance, engineering and education are right up there. She’s covered them all as a writer and/or editor for The Daily Oklahoman, Oklahoma TODAY magazine, GEICO and The Catholic University of America, and as a freelancer for many more. Luther earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from University of Missouri-Columbia. Go, Tigers!
Lisa Patterson has been a member of the H&R Block newsroom since 2012. She supports efforts to educate consumers and members of the media about taxes and company happenings. Before helping tax professionals talk taxes with the media, Patterson was a consultant for small companies running social media efforts, blogs, events and product marketing. She spent more than 10 years in local government managing communications for city operations, fire and the city manager. Patterson holds two degrees from University of Kansas: a Bachelor's in Business with an emphasis in marketing and a Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications.
Amy Schiska-Lombard leads communications activities to raise consumer awareness about H&R Block’s online and virtual tax products. She has extensive internal and external communications experience in multiple industries and international markets. Schiska-Lombard holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Missouri State University.
Susan Waldron came to H&R Block in 2014 and joined the newsroom in 2017. She brings 20 years of experience in corporate communications covering external and internal communications in a variety of industries – telecommunications, transportation, energy and financial services. Waldron holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Iowa State University.
As the newsroom editor, Annelise Wiens is interested in more than just tax and industry news, but the stories of H&R Block's 80,000 associates, their communities and H&R Block's world headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. Wiens joined H&R Block in 2014 from a public relations agency, where she worked with clients in the financial services industry. Before that, she worked as a communicator for a senior member of the United States House of Representatives. She graduated from Biola University in La Mirada, CA with a bachelor's degree in history.
