What Are the H&R Block Free File Requirements?

The H&R Block Free File edition is designed for taxpayers with a simple tax situation – Ex: someone who’s filing their taxes for the first time, or who doesn’t have investments or real estate. You must meet income requirements to file free, and if you require certain extra schedules or forms you might not be eligible.

H&R Block Free File version requirements aren’t suited to complex situations. If your tax situation is more complex, you might not qualify for the Free File version.
