From the basketball court to the soccer field, the talented women who are a part of H&amp;R Block\u2019s (NYSE: HRB) ongoing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrblock.com\/tax-center\/newsroom\/company-news\/a-fair-shot-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A Fair Shot<\/a> program are breaking barriers, shattering records and inspiring a new generation of female athletes.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>H&amp;R Block launched <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrblock.com\/tax-center\/newsroom\/company-news\/a-fair-shot-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A Fair Shot<\/a> in 2022 to champion gender equity in name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals, and to highlight the tax implications of NIL income. Female student athletes give 100% on the field but get only 23% of NIL deals. H&amp;R Block is helping level the playing field by supporting nearly 70 collegiate athletes over the last two years, and this year broadening the program\u2019s reach to include 13 sports and a wide variety of colleges and universities, including NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III schools, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019re so proud of all that our athletes are doing in their sports, classrooms and communities, and of the awareness they\u2019re helping raise for gender equity in NIL through A Fair Shot,\u201d said Jill Cress, Chief Marketing and Experience Officer for H&amp;R Block. \u201cAs a girl mom, my hope for these young women as they continue through college, and even prepare to graduate, is that they are paid equitably and are confident in their power to affect change.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the heels of Women&#8217;s History Month, H&amp;R Block is highlighting athlete stories across social media that celebrate the incredible women who have paved the way for them, while inspiring and encouraging them to show up daily for themselves, their teammates, families, friends and fans. This year, the company that revolutionized the tax industry, has teamed up with Fabletics and Jambys to bring greater awareness of the disparity in NIL sponsorships of female student athletes in comparison to their male counterparts.
