However, we&#8217;ll help you fix it.<\/p>\n<p>First, to begin to rectify the e-file rejection, verify these for your dependent:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Name<\/li>\n<li>Social Security number (SSN) or individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN)<\/li>\n<li>Date of birth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Check these against the Social Security card issued by the Social Security Administration. Also, look for spelling and transposition errors.<\/p>\n<p>Your dependent might have a hyphenated last name or multiple last names.
