Under the State Income Tax Levy Program, the IRS can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrblock.com\/tax-center\/irs\/audits-and-tax-notices\/tax-dictionary-levy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">levy <\/a>(take) your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrblock.com\/tax-center\/filing\/states\/wheres-my-refund-all-states\/\">state tax refund<\/a> to offset back taxes, addressing any tax debt you might owe.<\/p>\n<p>If this happens, the state will give you notice of the levy.
