If you can\u2019t make an estimated payment, you might be subject to a penalty with interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You might owe a penalty if the total of withholding and estimated tax payments you made didn\u2019t equal at least the smaller of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>90% of your 2025 tax<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>100% of your 2024 tax (Your 2024 return must cover a 12-month period.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You can postpone the quarterly Jan. 15 estimated tax payment until Jan. 31 if you file your return and make any necessary payments by that date.
