Why you received IRS Notice LT40<\/h3>\n

  1. You have an unpaid tax balance and may also have unfiled tax returns.<\/li>\n
  2. The IRS sent you several notices but the unpaid balance and unfiled returns were not addressed.<\/li>\n
  3. The IRS sent LT40 to notify you that it may be necessary to contact employers, banks and others to obtain or verify information regarding your tax account. If these contacts are made, the IRS will send you a list of parties they have contacted once a year. You have the right to request a copy at any time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
