However, if you\u2019ve completed your taxes and recently found out the IRS has no record of your tax return, don\u2019t panic \u2013 we can help.<\/p>\n<p>How you determine what to do next depends on the method you used to file your return.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you filed your return via the mail<\/strong>, print another copy of the return and mail it to the IRS again. Attach copies of any Forms W-2 for the return. If you paid the tax you owed, attach a copy of either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your canceled check.<\/li>\n<li>Confirmation that the payment has been processed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>If you e-filed your return with an H&amp;R Block Online product<\/strong>, log into your account and check the status of your return. Then:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If your return was rejected, the IRS didn\u2019t receive the return. Correct any rejection issues in the product and e-file your return again. You can use our online support center for help in resolving the rejected return.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the return was accepted, write down your declaration control number (DCN). Then, contact the IRS at 800-829-1040. Give the IRS your DCN and date you e-filed.<\/p>\n<h2>Receiving IRS Letter 4903<\/h2>\n<p>If the IRS has no record of your tax return, you may receive IRS letter 4903. Generally, if you receive this letter, you\u2019ll have 10 days to respond to the IRS.
