How can I purchase H&R Block State tax software?

State-only tax software is available for download only. Basic, Deluxe, Premium, and Premium & Business tax filing software packages can be purchased with one state program included.

Can I e-file my state tax return?

Yes! The H&R Block State Edition tax software offers e-filing for an additional fee. You cannot e-file states without income tax.

Can I file a non-resident or part-year resident state tax return using H&R Block State Edition filing software?

Most nonresident and part-year resident state tax returns can be filed using H&R Block State Edition software. We support e-filing part-year and / or nonresident returns for:

  • California
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Kansas
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Missouri
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio (nonresidents, W-2 only)
