The IRS and your state taxing authority change forms throughout the tax season. We release our tax software programs with draft versions of forms that are very close to what we expect the IRS to accept (so you can get a head start on your taxes). That means some forms included in the initial version of our software programs aren’t ready for filing and require updates. Don’t worry though, we’ve accounted for that. Here’s all that you need to know.
- The forms that most people need are ready by early January.
- We let you know if you have forms in your return that the IRS isn't ready to accept for filing.
- We also let you know when you can expect an update to become available for you to install.
- Then when the IRS is ready to accept your return, all you have to do is review the entries you've already made.
