I recently had a child. Is there new baby tax credit or new baby child tax credit?

Answer

No. There is no tax credit specific to the birth of a child. However, you can claim the child tax credit. The Child Tax Credit can reduce your tax bill by as much as $1000 per child. This tax credit is applicable to your dependent children under age 17.
