Can I have my refund deposited into two accounts?

Depositing your refund into two different accounts is known as a split deposit. However, you can’t directly deposit your refund into someone else’s account unless both of these apply:

• It’s a joint refund.
• The refund money is deposited into a joint account or an account controlled by your spouse.

Some banks won’t allow a refund from a joint return to be deposited into an account in the name of only one spouse. Confirm that your bank will allow you to deposit refund(s) into different accounts.
