H&R Block extends remote working option for corporate associates through the end of 2020
Company’s new tools and resources help associates manage physical, social, and emotional well-being
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, H&R Block is allowing corporate associates to continue working remotely through the end of 2020. The new plan lets employees work remotely or from the office with social distancing measures in place for everyone’s protection
“Our associates have demonstrated amazing resilience during this unprecedented time,” said Tiffany Monroe, chief people officer at H&R Block. “I am confident that as they continue to work in the place that works best for them, our associates will keep demonstrating that nothing stands in the way of their problem solving, providing help, and inspiring confidence for our clients.”
Currently, 42% of people in the U.S. are working full-time from home. Many are also homeschooling children, taking care of vulnerable relatives, social distancing, and otherwise keeping lives and livelihoods afloat. H&R Block recognizes this can be isolating, stressful, and disruptive. As COVID-19 cases continue to surge, the company is prioritizing the safety of associates while providing tools to help them navigate the strain of working remotely. This includes access to medical and mental health resources, support for daily life issues of associates and their families, health and benefits resources as well as tools for financial well-being.
“As we remain fluid and mindful in the measures we’re taking as a company to manage through the ever-changing pandemic, caring for our people is a top priority,” said Monroe. “In addition to encouraging people to take time off or just time away from their computer, we believe it is important to offer new tools and resources to address the total well-being of our associates.”
