With a new job in a new town, incoming president and CEO Jeff Jones’ to-do list is pretty long these days. But coming to Kansas City to meet with H&R Block co-founder Henry Bloch was a top priority.

“Meeting Henry Bloch was very high on my list of initial things to do,” Jones said. “To be able to meet and talk with the man who founded this great brand is just such an honor, and quite frankly, a humbling experience.”

Henry Bloch sat down to talk with Jones at the company’s world headquarters building in Kansas City. They discussed the history and the future of H&R Block and ate lunch in the company cafeteria.

“I was impressed,” Bloch said. “Jeff was extremely interested in learning about everything. I wish him the best of luck, and I hope he does a great job.”

“Henry has great insights into client service and the power of this brand,” Jones said. “I love the fact that with all of Henry’s experience and expertise, his single most important message to me was to never forget about serving our clients.”

Last month H&R Block announced Jones will join the company as president and CEO, effective October 9.
