MyBlock mobile app expands to include Emerald Card®
Emerald Card app no longer available after June 30
Starting today, H&R Block (NYSE: HRB) Emerald Prepaid Mastercard® holders will need to download the MyBlock app to track their balance, view their transaction history and find ATM and reload locations. With the MyBlock app, in addition to managing their Emerald Card, users can also track their charitable donations, receipts and tax documents on demand, estimate their potential income tax refund, find an H&R Block office, schedule an appointment, access their tax returns and more.
“MyBlock offers the convenience of two apps in one – all the functionality of your Emerald Card app®plus you can securely access your H&R Block tax return information and more,” said Greg Steinlicht, vice president of tax and financial products strategy for H&R Block. “Switching is simple: just download the MyBlock app, use your same sign-in information and find all your Emerald Card information already there.”
After June 30, the standalone Emerald Card Mobile Banking app will no longer be available. Users can seamlessly transition to the new MyBlock app which performs all the same functions of the Emerald Card app with the added ability to access tax information, schedule a tax appointment and more.
Both DIY and assisted clients can use MyBlock, a personalized view of their tax life to store documents, get organized or get instant access to previous-year returns and supporting documentation. Taxpayers also can use tax planning tools like an interactive tax estimator and a W-4 calculator, all stored in their MyBlock account.
