Scott Manuel

Scott Manuel is the Chief Strategy and Operations Officer for H&R Block, responsible for driving the strategic agenda for Block and building deeper capabilities in AI, product engineering, operations, data science and customer care.

Scott is a global C-suite executive specializing in enterprise-scale growth at the intersection of product innovation, customer intelligence, and technology. With over 25 years of experience leading high-performance organizations, he has a proven track record of navigating complex transformations across diverse, high-stakes industries—ranging from financial services and emerging tech to media and global information services.

Scott previously served as President of Tribute Technology, a B2B SaaS leader backed by The Carlyle Group and Vista Equity Partners. A seasoned transformation executive, Scott also served as Chief Product Officer at McClatchy, where he revitalized the organization’s digital consumer revenue and rebuilt its product, engineering, and data analytics functions from the ground up. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Thomson Reuters, spearheading commercial growth in high-growth sectors such as fintech, cognitive computing digital identity, and predictive analytics.

He serves on the board of Evrim, an AI decision-support company that creates structured, actionable intelligence for government and commercial industries.

Scott holds a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University.

Scott is also an Eagle Scout and a mentor for engineering and management students. He lives in Durham, NC.
