I am trying to determine the IRS refund schedule–i.e., when refund will be deposited. Will the IRS direct deposit my refund on an exact day based on when I file?
You can usually expect the IRS refund to be issued and money received via direct deposit within 21 days of the date your e-filed return was accepted.
If you paper filed or requested a check, the refund money will take longer to process.
The IRS does not provide an exact date of refund based on your filing date.
The IRS reduces or takes refunds (called refund offsets) for many reasons. If you received an IRS notice about a refund offset, learn what to do next.
